Pink Week Giveaway Winner

June 26, 2011

Last year on the last day of Pink Week something amazing happened.  I finally won an ebay auction for my dream typewriter.  And I won in the very last moments, by all of thirty eight cents.  It was a miracle.  And not too long after Beauty arrived and I cleaned her up and my typewriter guy Stan fixed her up and I’ve been in love with photographing her ever since.  Particularly with my washi tape collection.  They look good together.

Nothing nearly so exciting happened today.  Though I did go to church with my pink hair.  Only one person rolled their eyes at me.  Most people have been very complimentary, or they say nothing at all.  Which is fine, I don’t expect everyone to like it or approve or whatever.  But I was surprised at how much that one eye roll hurt.  I almost started to cry.   So do me a favor and in honor or pink week don’t roll your eyes at anyone for the rest of your life.

I drew a winner this morning for my Pink Week Giveaway and it’s Mrs. Moen!  An email should be waiting for you.  Thank you to everyone who played along and told me all about your favorite pink things.  Reading about your favorites is one of the best parts of Pink Week.

I’m making lists and collecting ideas for next year. I can’t wait to start working on Pink Week again!

I hope you are all having a great weekend.  I am off to bake my favorite pie for dinner and if I can convince Scott to take pictures while I cook I’ll post the recipe tomorrow.  See you soon.

okay, I promise never to roll my eyes but can I punch the person who did? Is that allowed? Love you, your pink hair, and pink week.

By the way…eye rolling is so last year. : ) Don’t let it bother you…some people just live in a tiny, boring square box their entire lives.

OMG!! That typewriter is amazing. I also LOVE your hair.

Short story: Five years back I was in San Francisco, for work, at a diner. As I was walking out there was a girl sitting for a to-go order. She had the most gorgeous shade of blue hair. It was truly a fantastic color. So I told her so. She shyly replied “thank you, not too many people think so”. I in-turn told her not to care what other people think. If it makes you happy then that’s all that matters.

I had pink streaks in high school.
If I’d been gutsy enough (and true to what I really wanted) I would have gone all pink.
    I think it’s lovely.
In a hip punk-rocker kind of way.
Oh, and yesterday I picked 26 lbs of strawberries…so I made jam, puree, syrup, pie, and milkshakes. And thought of you several times whilst doing so!
    Happy end of pink week.

isn’t it amazing how one negative person can have such a huge effect on you? it stings when someone looks at you that way.

i’m one of those people who’s day goes so smoothly, if a stranger smiles at me or makes a kind comment. don’t let it bother you. you look beautiful!

Oooo, the mal ochio smarts. We’re here to love you, pink hair and all.
I’m so happy that Nina-Lise won. She’s giving her all on her blog this month, so it’s lovely for her to have some pinkness in return. Happy face.

    Congrats to Nina.
Sorry about the eye roll. I am very sensitive like that also, and little negative actions really upset me. Some people really just don’t think about others’ feelings.

Love your pink typewriter even more today. You lucky thing. 😀
