Spring Cleaning

February 15, 2011

We’ve had a few days of exceptionally warm February weather.  And yesterday we spent all afternoon outside playing.

Yarn Nest

But today my house feels like this, and I’m staying inside to try and put things back together.  Creamie found this skein of yarn a few days ago and this is how she left it.  She came running up to me, so excited and said “Look mama, I open it for you! I break it!  For you!”  Her new helpful (and totally adorable) attitude is part of the reason we are doing some serious straightening up today.

Just enjoy enjoying the “helpful” stage. Right now I’m having a hard time enjoying it. I’m exhausted. I need to be better about remembering to love their quirks, and their desire to help and do right… even when it ends up wrong.

    You’re such a great mom. 🙂

That’s what a skein of yarn (or spool of thread) looks like after my dog gets into it! Grandma is coming to visit soon and I have to remind her to bring the knitting bag that has a zipper across the top. Hope you had a chance to restore some order today.

How sweet is she! My helper is six now and loves sorting fabric scraps and folding laundry.
Hooray for sweet little helpers because they grow quickly into sweet big helpers!

Hahaha. I need to teach her other things to “help” you with. 😉
