Popcorn is Still Gross.
Yesterday was supposedly “National Popcorn Day.” Which I think sounds made up, but whatever. Scott and Creamie shared a batch of home-popped popcorn last night and they were both pretty pleased.
It was adorable watching Creamie sit by her daddy, watching basketball, and chowing down from her very own little bowl.
I gave Scott these two matching popcorn buckets for his birthday something like five years ago. The plan was that the little one was for me, but I’ve since realized I’d much rather eat Oreo’s.
But I still think that popcorn is gross. It’s only good for stringing into garlands to put on the Christmas tree. But eating it? Ewww. As soon as Creamie was in bed I pulled out the Oreo’s. Because I’m not at a point in my life that I get excited about sharing them with anyone.
I’ve been working on some new art journal pages, and hopefully I’ll get some posted this week. I also started watching Mad Men. Strictly to look at the pretty vintage dresses. I have a notepad next to the laptop so I can draw the things I like. So many pretty pretty dresses.
S and I love popcorn!
cute pictures. I already told you in flickr land that it looks familiar. 😉
(do you use real butter on your popcorn? That’s the trick if you ask me)
I didn’t even know yesterday was national Popcorn Day! I totally made some yummy homemade popcorn. But it has to be homemade or no good. That microwave stuff just does nothing for me.
Also, these pictures are adorable. In case you didn’t know. 😉
You’re crazy. I was looking at the popcorn package the other day and noticed–that stuff has lots of fiber! So good for you. So my suggestion to you is to make marshmallow popcorn–melt a stick of butter, add 3/4 C brown sugar, then when that’s combined add 10-12 large marshmallows. Once melted, pour and stir over the popcorn. Eat. A lot. Mmmmm.
PS. I try not to share Oreos, either. Thank heavens Cory doesn’t find them worth the calories. I knew I married that man for a reason! 🙂
Apart from loving popcorn, I just have to comment that Creamie is so photogenic and so cute! I’ve been reading your blog for months and months, and have never commented, but those photos of her eating popcorn are just so sweet I had to say something (finally).
And, in the better late then never category, I made your fall pumpkin, and gave it to my team of radiation techs for hallowe’en – they loved it! Thank for that, and for all the enjoyable posts.
I forgot what I was going to write just as soon as I read the description Jessie wrote for marshmallow popcorn. Suddenly nothing else seems important.
(oh, and I plan to start watching Madmen, too. I haven’t seen any episodes, but I heard I’d like it (but that was from a boy who doesn’t watch Real Housewives, so I’m not sure how he’d know my taste. But then again, if you like it, I bet I will, too… since you like scooters and pretty things all in every color and all things vintage and upcycling stuff and well, you get the pic.)
