A Pear Tree

September 16, 2010

A few months ago I was rummaging through my mom’s sewing supplies looking for a particular color of thread.  In my digging I came across this loose piece of linen that she had embroidered for my grandma way back in the day.

I fell instantly in love with it.  I kind of have a thing for pears anyway, and I’ve been collecting pieces of stitchery from the thrift store for a while now.  I really wish that I had a wall in my kitchen to hang it on.  I’d need a pretty big wall.  I have amassed quite the pear collection.  Thanks Mom for letting me bring this one home.  I promise to one day have it properly framed so I can look at it everyday.

That is a lovely piece of stitching. I love it and what a wonderful heirloom for your daughter! I am a mom of 4, grandmother of 12 and great grandmother of 4. I’ve been reading your daily posts for quite some time and it makes my heart sing to see how you’ve made needlework and homemaking in general so attractive to other young people. Keep it up. You never know how many lives you brighten.
