Ready for School

I don’t like August, I really don’t.  It’s just a hot sticky mess.  But I have always loved starting school.  I always looked forward to sitting down in a nice air conditioned building, with no yardwork and no chores to get in the way of my daydreams.

[ I kind of wish I was going here.  Bullet Hill School, built in 1789 in Southbury, CT.  ]

I wish I was going back to school this fall.  I really wish I was.  I earned by Bachelor’s degree 4 years ago, and I am itching to buy new pencils pens (I never use a pencil) and new notebooks and a dive into learning new things.  But a PhD just isn’t in the cards this year.  Or next year either.  But one day, one day I’ll go back to school.  So I am going to stock up one notebooks and pens, you know, just in case.

I only use pens with purple ink. Ever. And heaven forbid if my children take off with my purple pens. I agree, I love it when school starts. But man I hate August.
    Ugh.

It’s been almost 20 years since I graduated from college. I missed buying school supplies every fall until my kids started to school.

I always sneak in some cool pens and pencils (and lots of other stuff) for myself when I’m buying theres.

You realize that while that school building is lovely, it probably doesn’t have AC…

I love school/office supplies {I even use pencils — mechanical ones, because that is fancy}. I often wander down that aisle at the store just so I can look at the pretty pens all lined up in a row. Yes, we are kindred spirits for sure.

Glad I’m not going back to school. That is the stuff of my nightmares. Although, I do think it would be really fun to take a horticulture class or two and maybe a writing class and possibly do something serious like get a degree in graphic design. But not right now. I’m too busy quilting.

I always loved school, I loved getting new supplies and the smell of a new bookbag.

I really love new school supplies. I may have stocked up even though Nicholas needs only a backpack for kindergarten. I just can’t skip over the school supply section around this time of the year. Love it!!
