Summer Fun
We took Creamie to a splash pad a few nights ago. I am convinced that they are a gillion times better than a swimming pool. She can play in the water by herself, and I don’t have to worry about her drowning, or drinking the chlorine laden, often peed in pool water. She can walk around where she wants to and be totally independent in a much larger area than the shallow end provides. This particular splash pad also has a 6 foot wide river. But it’s only 6 inches deep. Brilliant I tell you!
She had so much fun splashing in the water and watching the other kids.
Deep in concentration. This splashing is serious business.
But the very best part about the splash pad/kiddie river is I as a parent can play with her without feeling socially obligated to shave my legs and wear a swimming suit. See, everyone wins.
Have a good weekend!
PS- I went thrifting yesterday, it being Friday the 13th I was sure something lucky would happen. And I was correct. I found 3 lids to go with some pieces in my new Pyrex collection for $.25 each. Now how lucky is that!
when we lived in germany there was a water pad sort of thing near the dept. of defense school where i taught. took my students there usually the last day or so of school. they had this gigantic sculpture of a man with water spouting out of his head and kiddos could slide down his legs–so absolutely cool. glad you had a good time with your little one!
Where is this magical splash pad! It looks like fun!
We LOVE that splash pad! All my kids from a year to 15 have a blast there. Sooooo! much better than the pool.
Ok, we definitely need to go there before the end of summer. This looks like SO much fun, and SO much less stress than going to the pool… with 3 kids… by myself. My girls would love it, I’m sure.
This looks like it would be so much fun. Your pictures are wonderful, I was wondering what kind of camera you are using, my photos just do not turn out.
The camera is a Nikon D80. I take some of the pictures, mostly the ones that Erika is in, and she takes the rest.
Pink,
You must tell me where this splash pad is. We’ve never been to such a cool one.

P.S. Creamie is adorable in her pink suit.
i so totally agree that splash pads are better than pools. i told my husband that when we finally get into a house i want one in our backyard
and i wasn’t kidding 🙂
Okay, you need to pass on some of that thrifting expertise to me. Most of what I come across here at thrift stores are over-priced items. I saw an Aynsley teapot with a broken spout (without the lid) going for $10 at the thrift store!!! You must have a sensitive nose, being able to smell where unbelievable deals are, just teasing.
