Mellow Yellow

Yellow usually isn’t one of my favorite colors, but yesterday I found one of the awesomest yellow finds at the thrift store.  (Those pics are last.) And after I took some pictures of them I started browsing through my favorites and my bookmarks and it turns out I like more yellow than I thought.  Here’s a few fave’s of my fave’s.

So, are you ready for the real awesomeness for today?  I stopped by my two favorite thrift stores yesterday morning and found treasures at both, but I am the most excited about these two.

I don’t usually spend too much time looking for toys.  But these caught my eye and I was thrilled to bring them home.  They are vintage metal Tonka Trucks.  My brothers played with these same trucks and spent hours and hours digging up stuff.  They are huge, like 18″ and 24″ ish long.  And for $2.50 each I could not in good conscience leave them there.

They both need a bath.  Badly.  But Creamie is going to have so much fun digging in the dirt and the sandbox and the woodchips under the slide.  I realized yesterday that Creamie doesn’t have very many girly toys.  She has a baby and a stroller that she loves.  And she carries a purse around religiously.  But her favorite toys are her trains and her Lego’s and her blocks.  And my new favorite of her toys are these dudes.  I’m going to name them.  You know, with her help.
