The Missing

Missing: Brownie Centers

Missing: One pan of brownie centers.

Description: Dark chocolate with chocolate chunks.  Soft and chewy with no crispiness or nuts to get in the way.

Plea for safe return: Please bring my beloved brownie middles back, I can’t go on without them.  Or the middles of any other brownies will work, I’m not too picky.

Confession: I hate brownie edges.  That edges only pan that is all the rave? I pretty much think it’s the worst idea ever.  I only like the middles.  When is someone going to invent an edgeless pan?  That’s a product I can totally get behind.

Other Confession: I ate this whole pan of brownies by myself except for those three pieces from the bottom center.  Most of them were consumed straight from the pan with a fork.  While standing up.  Or hiding from Creamie so I didn’t have to share.  And I don’t feel one bit bad about it.  Nope, not one bit.

I’m with you. I hate the edge, and so do all my kids. We are going to have to start eating the same way you do.

Chris’s mom–who is a fanatastic cook, always trims her brownies before she serves them. Everybody gets a middle piece. I eat as many middle pieces as I can and then offer to do the dishes so I can eat all the edges. Now you know why I’m doing weight watchers–again.

    Hey, Pinkie,
I have the edge pan, which, might I add, was a gift. And it is still unused. I think it’s only place in my life is for baked mac & cheese…or something where an edge might be good. Maybe chicken spaghetti? Who knows. Anyway, I agree with you– the edges are not good. Save those edges for desperate times, like when you have no brownies. Like right now, I’m sitting here licking the screen trying to get some of those crumbs. I’m on a diet, so the only sweet things in my house are grapes and apples. Yeah, on second thought, I’d take those edges.

Awesome. I, too, shun the edges. Until the middles are gone. Then it’s all up for grabs. 😉

you and my father-in-law would make a great team. He would finish this pan off for you in a heartbeat!! (this from the man who likes his cookies baked crisp and then put in the food dehydrator so that it’s like eating a rock.)

I don’t mind an edge, if it’s not too crispy… But I do love the gooey, chewy centers the best!
