Another similar idea: We recently learned how to make blankets like this in an Enrichment mtg. They were called Hawaiian blankets because they were light–no batting (also it was a Hawaiian lady teaching the class). We used a twin sheet for the back and it came around to make the mitered corners and then 2 yds of a Hawaiian print fabric for the top. They are big enough to curl up in on a night that’s too hot for a heavy blanket. They’re also great to haul to the beach and light enough to throw in the washer. For the mitered corners, many pins were used–that was the easiest way we could figure out.
